ALL AGES -- we need kids, adults, babies, grandparents -- every man, woman and child -- having some fun and supporting our schools!

We will create a giant, free costume party for all ages, supported by sponsorships, that will break the Guinness world record for “most people dressed like a superhero” – currently 1500. The event will be fun, will raise thousands of dollars for the Columbia Public Schools Foundation (through sponsorship), and will involve all sectors of our community in supporting our public schools. We will have music, food, costume contests and other activities to make the day fun and memorable. We are coordinating with the Guinness organization to ensure that we do everything necessary to meet their requirements and break the record.

Costume guidelines:
1. Each person must be dressed as a recognized superhero.
2. A recognized superhero is one that has been used in a published book, comic, television program or film.
3. Each person's costume must be instantly recognizable as the superhero they are portraying.

If you are interested in helping create this event, contact Sean Spence at 823-1308 or seanspence@earthlink.net.

Ways to support the event:
o Attend, in costume
o Be a sponsor
o Recruit others to attend (friends, co-workers, clubs, etc.)
o Volunteer to help with planning or on the day of the event

Proceeds will go to the CPS Foundation, which funds grants at all levels. For examples, here's what they funded in 2010 -- http://www.cpsf.org/grants/2010/
